The Taiwan lovely novels tell the story about Luyu, a child born in Fairy family. In this family, when everyone is 20 years old, he/she can summon his fairy guardian. The figure of a guardian depends on what the summoner is thinking while summoning. He wished he had a white condor but it turned out to be a very handsome guy with baby’s behavior because he was just heart-broken and watched the model magazine his ex-girlfriend gave him. So he has to bring a child up carefully and hard. Every girl (normal girls or other summoner) likes to have him. At the first, this story seems to be a joke and ridiculous story but it’s getting more serious and fun.  However, the end is too short. For those who like read Y-story, you couldn’t miss this story, even it’s not a real Y-story.

The cover attracted me so I bought this book.  It’s okay. The story begins when there is white rain in a hill.  Around the hill, there are many people in the neighborhood. Men are abused by their wives. Girls are left by their mother behind with drunkard fathers.  Some family, women are also abused by their husband too. When the white rain pours down, their behaviors have been changed. Those abused all the time are changed into madmans. They begin to kill the person abusing them before. It’s revenge.  I think this book is cool. It’s without cases, investigation. It’s just killing! It’s different from the other books.  Unique plot!

Review & Opinion: Arcane society series

 

The books authored by female writer who uses her pseudonym Amanda Quick and Jane Ann Krentz. It depends on the age of a story in her book. Each book has an individual story. It is different from each other but shares the same main plot. The leading female of her books is a (powerful) psychic.  She does her work under control of Arcane society which looks after all psychic. Another same plot is a leading male. He seems to be a person from the Jones, The biggest family in Arcane society. In the story, there are many romantic, investigating, fighting scenes. The bad point in all her stories is there are some links between characters in all her book. So if you cannot remember what happens, you will feel a little bit annoyed.

A suicide shop is especially for those who want to commit suicide. There are a lot of things such as a gun with full bullets, poison, or even Samurai blade with Harakiri (Japanese stomach-cutting).  This business  is passed generation to generation in the Tuvas. The important rule of the family is that they have to act like sad and desperate person. And that is what they did for many generations.  The present shop owner and his wife never smiled. Their eldest son invented new suicide things every day. He also planned an amusement park for a person who wants to die. Their daughter is so gloomy.  She thinks she is ugly every day. One day  the youngest son is born named Alun. He is a smiling boy. That disappoints their parents. They find the way to change him to be sad and gloomy. The name of the book seems terror but the fact that it is a lovely and funny book. I couldn’t put it off while reading.  You can learn a few life philosophies from this book.  The important is this book is extremely sarcastic about social. You should not miss this book.

The characteristic makes this Pearl publishing’s novel series fairly unique. Leading character is an undead sorcerer, which I think he would be the great sorcerer but died in accident and because an undead, then he became an undead detective which had to do his detective job as his clan (forces of Mevolent) ordered. The majority of case he had to do is to confront with those evils faceless ones ( Devil or something like that). Valkyrie Cain who was a last lineal descendant of the Ancients ( good angle who can fight with faceless ones) helped Skulduggery to carry on his work.  The story’s plot is so normal. It’s just like Hero rescue the world. But it is enormous fun. I couldn’t put it off while reading. Each character charms me. The importance is more than half of those characters was very funny and ridiculous, especially Skulduggery. He was the most brilliantly funny and ridiculous. A normal dialog among characters could turn to a incredibly funny conversation. I really love this book series. There are three books already (In Thailand but actually there are 9 books as I know). I recommend you to read this story definitely.

The Punica's Miracle White series comes with the maximum of jokes and funny but sometimes it doesn't make me laugh at all. I can forgive that. The story began with angles and devils having to find humans to compete in "Earth Reality." The person chosen by devils would be the worst person and the person chosen by angles would be the best person too. The angle-chosen person was a girl named NamKhang, who in her life had never committed any sin. Because the result of the competition inclined towards her, Devils sent their seven deadly sins to deal with her. The seven deadly sins consisted of Lust, a charming playboy, Gluttony, a guy who loved eating and also cooking very well, Wrath, a fighting guy, Envy, a jealous boy, Laziness (sloth), a sleepy boy who always slept and likes to speak with abbreviation form, Avarice(greed), a gambler, and Pride, a stoned-heart boy.

All of them would come to make Namkhang commit sins one by one. But it wasn't an easy job to do because each deadly sin wanted to do it by himself, so they interfered and obstructed themselves. You know,if they hadn't interfered themselves, they would have done their work already. They did many things such as disguised themselves as girls or even kicked their deadly friends down from the high building. They destroyed themselves even more than did their job.  This book is an easy novel to read. You will enjoy and laugh along with these stupid characters.   I recommend this book to everyone.

The first time I saw the back hardcover I think it was about Yaoi but it’s not.  This book is about a prince’s story.  The prince looked absolutely lovely when he was born. Because a grand wizard has chanted him to be an all men-lover (a person whom all men love) when the wizard was out of his mind and stunned, from a child to a man, the little prince had been flirted by a lot of men so much that the king thought that he wanted his son to marry the other prince from another kingdom. However, a woman soldier and a young magician close to the prince cooperated to help him find the grand wizard to break this man-loved spell.

This is a terror story which the character in the book told all story through his viewpoint.  The novel is mainly about two brothers left in hotel beside the sea off which a severe storm was blowing in. There was the navy named Jonah Thackeray came in the hotel to wait out the storm. He found the two brothers and began telling them the tales of terror. Jonah Thackeray is a fascinating and charming character. His horrible stories are all about the sea , ocean and seafaring. There is a love between Thackeray and Kethy to lighten the terror and stress in the book but it doesn’t work.(?) I think he seems growing more stressed and madder. In my opinion, the end of Thackeray’s stories is quiet good.

Febrizio is an archeologist who come to NAS for research about a lad statue named "Shade of twilight" but while he work at night, there's a phone call and a woman voice tell him to leave the boy alone. In the same time one of tomb robber was killed by a big animal that no one knows. There's a serial killing in the town that connect with the curse in tomb that Fabrizio found the skeleton of a Phersu man (a kind of sacrifice) and a beast that match with the one that kill people in town. He was to solve this problem by translating the curse in the bronze slab that his boss found.
